Connectivity

Signed up for the new high speed cable modem today. We are thinking of getting rid of the T1 here and with the faster upload on the new service this could let us use cable modem without too many problems. It will be interesting to see how this works since at the moment we have 1.54 megs down and up and with the cable we will have 6 megs down and 512 K up. Granted most of the time this is enough but we will see if this turns out to be a problem with the things we need in the office.

I looked around for DSL as well but all the ones in San Diego seem to make you have a phone line from them. Since I have ATT Callvantage for my home phone and ATT business for the business lines that is not an option. I think DSL companies are going to have to change that as the Voice over IP gets more popular. There doesn't seem to be a good way for them to compete with the cable people when you are using Voice Over IP.

Well the cable guy comes tomorrow to setup so we will see how that works out.
